The flexural behavior of masonry wall strengthened with prestressed wire-ropes was examined and compared with that of unstrengthened masonry wall. Test results showed that the ultimate strength and energy dissipation capacity of strengthened masonry wall were higher than those measured from unstrengthened masonry wall by 208% and 207%, respectively. In addition, the unstrengthened masonry wall failed in the rocking while the strengthened masonry wall showed rocking and diagonal tensile failure modes, indicating that the developed strengthened procedure has a significant influence on the failure mode of masonry wall.
