This study accessed 10 foster parents in Foster households who had the experience of fostering a child to examine their experiences for the establishment of practical policies and improvement plans. The subjects of this study were selected through purposive sampling and interviewed in depth. Giorgi's phenomenological research method study was employed in order to analyze the collected data. According to the results, some foster parents had difficulty with the ambiguous role in fostering children and the lack of government financial support. Especially, children's inappropriate behaviors which were not corrected were among the biggest reasons for the termination of the foster contract. Some parents fostered children mainly because they were required to do, which made them feel guilty. When faced with such difficulties, support from family members and friends encouraged them to continue to foster children. In addition, fostering children became an opportunity for them to newly discover and recharge themselves. However, some parents seriously considered giving up fostering children as their family members failed to establish and maintain good relation with the foster children. Besides, they also had difficulty fostering children because of their biological parents. Some of them indeed gave up fostering children due to the lack of their time and lots of stress attributed to child fostering. Based on these results, it was concluded that financial support should be provided to establish a high quality foster care system. In addition, a practical educational program should be provided to foster parents to help them define their role in fostering children.
