The purpose of this study were to identify how Korean newspapers perceive tourism system and to develop the practical suggestions for Korean tourism actors(e.g. tourist, tourism firms, government) to establish the desirable mass media relation.
In order to accomplish these purpose, the study reviewed the literature related to this topic and analyzed the contents of the editorials in the major five Korean newspapers.
As a conclusion, this study suggested three comprehensive strategies for Korean tourism actors:
(1) Tourists should have appropriate tourism informations through newspapers and be able to ask for it ;
(2) Tourism firms should develop mutually cooperative relation with newspapers and implement tourism awareness program ;
(3) Government should recognize the social role of newspapers and establish the appropriate communication channels.
