Confocal laser-induced Raman microscopy has been used to illustrate the applicability of on-chip signal detection for organic solvents on a PDMS microfluidic chip. Binary solvent mixtures with different % concentrations have been injected into the chip using a couple of microsyringe pumps. Concentration of each solvent has been determined from the ratio of characteristic Raman peaks. Confocal laser-induced Raman microscopy is expected to be very useful for the on-chip signal detection of organic reagents in a microfluidic PDMS chip.
