관상동맥 조영술을 받는 대상자에게 음악요법이 미치는 효과 = Effects of Music Therapy in the Patients undergoing Coronary Angiography

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of music therapy on patients’ anxiety, pain and discomfort during coronary angiography using a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design. Among the patients who were expected to undergo coronary angiography at a general hospital in G-city, 30 patients in the experimental group and 30 patients in the control group were assigned. The participants were selected by random sampling and the group was decided by tossing a coin. The study was progressed with the control group first and then with the experimental group. After music preference survey, the experimental group listened to their favorite music from the preparation stage to the end of coronary angiography. Data were analyzed using x2-test and t-test with IBM SPSS 20.0 Win program, presenting normal distribution. The results showed that music therapy reduced state anxiety (t=-3.39, p<.001), pain on the procedure site (t=-2.90, p=.003), and both objective (t=-5.48, p<.001) and subjective discomfort (t=-4.44, p<.001) in the experimental group, and that there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Based on the results, as a nursing intervention we recommend applying music therapy to patients during coronary angiography to alleviate their anxiety, pain and discomfort.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 관상동맥 조영술 과정에서 대상자에게 음악요법을 적용하여 불안, 통증 및 불편감에 미치는 효과를 확인하고자 한 비동등성 대조군 유사실험설계연구이다. 연구대상자는 G시 종합병원에서 관상동맥 조영술 시행예정자로 실험군 30명, 대조군 30명이었다. 대상자는 무작위표출법으로 선정되었고, 집단은 동전던지기로 결정하였다. 연구진행은 대조군 실시 후 실험군을 하였다. 연구자는 실험군이 선호하는 음악을 파악하고 준비하였고, 관상동맥 조영술 준비 단계부터 종료 시점까지 선호하는 음악을 듣도록 하였다. 자료 분석은 IBM SPSS 20.0 Win 프로그램을 사용하였고 자료가 정규분포를 보여 x2-test와 t-test로 검증하였다. 연구결과에서 음악요법은 관상동맥 조영술을 받고 있는 실험군의 상태불안을 감소시키고(t=-3.39, p<.001) 시술부위 통증(t=-2.90, p=.003)을 완화시켰으며, 객관적 불편감(t=-5.48, p<.001) 및 주관적 불편감(t=-4.44, p<.001) 감소에도 영향을 주었으며 통계적으로 두 집단 간의 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 근거로 관상동맥 조영술을 받는 동안 대상자의 불안, 통증 및 불편감을 완화하는데 음악요법을 간호중재로 활용할 것을 권장한다.
