In the Knowledge based society of 21st century, we must succeed in the implementation of e-government as it is a major force which enables society to revolutionize in various ways. This study is for the successful operation of our country`s e-government project and will look into the issue and the directions to take in the future. To achieve these goal, we must first be able to evaluate our present level through analysis of the present status of korea`s e-government. Using this knowledge, then, we must pinpoint the issues at hand and the measures to be taken to solve these issues. One of the most important points that this study has shown is that Korea`s e-government is past the stage of merely informatizing separate ministries, but is now at the level where ministries and department are being integrated and connected. So it is imperative to focus on a more government-wide approach rather than just separate ministries. Therefore, to reach more high e-government maturity, we must use this as a basis to concentrate ministry-wide capability. It is especially important to prepare e-government institutional arrangement and management system to efficiently integrate and coordinate the e-government projects of each ministry.
