고종조 1893 세계박람회에 대한 기술상 오류문제에 관한 연구 = A Study of Miswriting of 1893 World Exposition in King Kojong

It seems early to be describe about the World Exposition on the Hansungsunbo(Korean Newe Paper) in 1884. After news paper Writing, Historian Mun Il Pung described about 1893 Expo through The Fifty Years of History of the Relations with Korea and USA. After Mun's writing, we can not fing scarecely any description of 1893 Expo. So it is very impotant to sudy miswriting through the data of Expo 2005 Aich Japan, the data of Yeosu City Home Page for World Expo, Yeusu University Home Page, and the Committee for the 2012 Exposition Home Page. I found many miswriting in it. Fiirst of all , I found many miswriting in Expo 2005 Aich Japan Home Page. For example, it is the title of Chicago Columbian World's Exposition, the number of participating nations, the explanation of Ye Cha Yun and Pak Yong Kiu, the number of being participated as Korean Commissioner and his suits, the area of Korean Pavilion, the lists and records of Korean exhibits, the traditional musician Pak Chun Jae, the photos of 1893 Expo. Also I found miswriting the period of exposition, the area of ground of expo, the number of being participated nations in the data of Committee. So it must correct all as following.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

시카고 콜럼비아 세계박람회는 1893년 5월 1일부터 10월 30일까지 183일간 시카고 미시건 호반의 젝슨 공원, 미드웨이 프레잔스, 워싱턴 공원 686acres에 콜럼버스 아메리카 발견 400주년을 기념하기 위하여 열렸다. 우리나라를 위시하여 47개국이 참가하고 2700여명이 관람한 세계박람회이다. 박람회장은 200여개의 건물이 있었으나 그중에 대표적인 것은 총무원, 농산물 전시관, 원예 전시관, 가축 전시관, 어류 전시관, 광물 전시관, 기계 전시관, 수송 전시관, 제품 전시관, 전기 전시관, 예술 전시관, 교양 전시관, 박물관, 목재 전시관, 여성 전시관이다. 우리나라는 제품 전시관 서남부에 한국관을 짓고 출품대원 정경원, 수원 최문현, 수원 안기선, 국악사 10명 도합 13명을 현지에 보내고 출품하였다. 출품목록을 보면 물종은 5종이고 출품자는 21명이다. 벤크로프트는 우리나라의 진열품이 장남감 같다고 악평한 반면 프린은 조선의 출품은 예술 전사관까지 매력적이고 값어치 있는 도자기가 유명하다고 호평하여 대조를 이루고 있다. 한국관은 출품대원 정경원을 주축으로 오리토리움 호텔 7층 지금 간즈 기념관에서 향연을 베풀었다. 이 향연은 우리나라가 미국에서 베푼 2번째 국제적 향연이다. 10월 9일에는 미국이 연 국제향연에 참가하여 우리나라 사람이 쓴 갓에 모인 사람들의 시선이 집중되었다. 정경원은 박람회를 끝내고 고종에게 건청궁에서 귀국보고를 하였다. 신문물에 대한 호기심을 갖고 있었던 고종은 많은 것을 정경원에게 물어 보았는데 그중에 고종은 m법을 사용하면서 한국관의 크기를 묻자 정경원은 한국척으로 8간 정도라고 답하였다.2005 아이치 국제 엑스포가 2005. 3. 25-9. 25까지 185일간 일본에서 열렸다. 이 박람회는 새천년에 들어서서 하노버 세게박람회에 이어 2번째로 열리는 세계박람회이다. 따라서 세계인의 이목이 집중된 세계박람회이다. 그런데 간판격인 홈페이지 한국관 구성에 내용상 오류가 눈에 띄는 것이 있어 유감스러운 일이기에 차후를 위하여 먼저 오류문제를 짚어 보았다. 우리나라가 인정 박람회인 93 대전 엑스포를 치른 경험은 있다고 하지만 등록박람회를 치른 경험은 없다. 그래서 전남 여수시가 중심이 되어 2010 등록박람회 유치직전을 폈으나 실패한 경험이 있다. 이에 여수시는 2012년 인정박람회 개최에 도전을 시도하고 있다. 욕심 같아서는 2012년의 3년 뒤 2015년 등록박람회 도전이 바람직한 것은 사실이다. 어떻든 여수시나 여수대하교 및 추진위원회의 홈페이지는 오류가 있어 유감이다.
