      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to criticize the term of Kyungdang(경당), one of the educational institutes in Koguryu Dynasty. It called Kyungdang up to now, there have been some serious problems in calling that way.
Firstly, in many Chinese history books concerned, the another term is found, to which we must pay a attention. It is the term of Kukdang(局堂). For now, it is not impossible to judge which one is right with these historical materials. But the latter has rather more probablity than the former, especially grounded on one historical record that describes Kukdang as one of the educational institutes of Chosun Dynasty.
Secondly, Kyungdang is not reasonable term according to the meaning of the word. The word Kyungdang, for example, is to mean the educational institute attatched with devices for locking its gates outside. The supporters of Kyungdang contend that they shut the gates in order that they make young man trained harder. Judging from common sense, it is hard to accept. In addition, we can't think Kyungdang the only place that has the locking devices that times. On the other hand, the term Kukdang is to regarded as 'a training school of village'. So we can see Kukdang is more natural.
After all, it is certain Kyungdang is problematic term in some ways and, at the same time, Kyungdang is more reasonable one. So it demands that we examine closely which one is correct.
