    This study aims to contribute to the prevention of practical safety accidents at the site by analyzing accident cases of the five major construction machines to verify the effectiveness of the smart technology application on reducing the number of accident deaths and accident accidents, analyzing related laws and systems to confirm the effectiveness of the government’s smart technology policy, and suggesting ways to expand the introduction of smart technologies. An online survey of 255 construction professionals from Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Gyeongnam and Gyeongsang was conducted, with data analyzed using multiple regression and mediation analysis. the application of smart technology to five major construction machines at construction sites was verified to reduce the occurrence of accident deaths and accidents and the necessity of introducing smart technology. These results it was found that the application of smart technology of the five major construction machines had a significant effect on the reduction of accident deaths and accidents. these results suggest that the application of smart technology to the five major construction machines that are frequently used in construction sites and have a high frequency of accidents is effective in reducing the number of actual accident deaths and accidents. therefore, it is essential to consider smart technology together as a safety measure for the five major construction machines.
