Russell began to have interests in World Peace when the World War I broke out. Writing an anti-war article resulted him not only divesting of a university lecturer, but also losing his friends. Moreover, he even had to pay fine and live in imprisonment. I think he ought to be appraised and valued highly for loving peace and despising war. He organized an education plan, established and managed a school to practice the plan to try to establish a war-free society. The purpose of this study is to find guidelines for the new directions of Korea education where it seems to reach the point of disdaining human life within a materialistic world. Documentary records are used as the method for this paper, whereas the contents of the study include Russell`s life, idea of peace education, necessity of peace education, and the basis of peace education to enable probing his pace-oriented educational philosophy and understanding of the children`s education within them. In addtion, this study will analize Russell`s philosophy in peace education to seek what his purpose, contents, method, and philosophy are. The citations are mainly drawn from autobiography and other related books. The results of the study follow: 1. Implantation of the peace spirit to children should be the first step of peace education. Consequently, mediums such as children`s toys, cartoon, movie, and etc. should be developed exclusively from cruel or war scenes. 2. Their environments should assure that children live in the peace, family, and society should support them to be creative. 3. Kindergartens and schools should educate children with respects for each one`s characteristic. In another word, the education should not be something regimental, but something that teachers and students can join together. 4. Should be able to help children to partake in a process of education planning and managing so they can set up their own goals and practice to achieve the elf-made plan. 5. Should be systemized so they can be set free from exam-centered education. Exam-centered education system makes children difficult to pursue goals in cooperation ceremonies ; consequently it resulted an unpeaceful educational environment.
