This study aimed to empirically analyze the financial literacy education needs of elderly residents aged 60 and above in Gyeonggi Province. A survey was conducted with 617 participants, and the Borich Needs Assessment and Locus for Focus model were applied. Overall, high educational needs were identified in financial knowledge and financial behavior. By income level, low-income respondents showed higher needs in basic financial knowledge and everyday financial behaviors, while high-income respondents demonstrated greater needs in understanding financial products and advanced asset management. Middle-income respondents exhibited intermediate levels of need. By city size, elderly in smaller cities expressed stronger needs for practical, daily financial behaviors, whereas those in large cities emphasized financial knowledge and planned financial management. These findings highlight the necessity of developing tailored financial education programs that reflect both socioeconomic and regional characteristics.
