지역 전문인력 양성 방안에 관한 연구 - 여수지역을 중심으로 - = A Study on the Education of International Specialists Needed in Yosu Area

국문 초록 (Abstract)

해양수산의 도시이자 관광도시로 알려져 있는 여수시는 2012년 세계박람회 개최 후보지로 지정 받기 위한 사업을 추진 중에 있다. 또 여수시가 포함된 광양만권이 경제자유구역(Free Economic Zone)으로 지정되어 외국인주거지, 외국인 상업단지, 외국 산업단지, 국제물류 단지 등이 건설될 예정이고 율촌 제1산단의 일부가 율촌 자유무역지역으로 지정되어 외국기업의 투자를 유치하기 위한 노력이 경주되고 있다. 게다가 국내유수의 화학공업 중심의 산업단지가 소재하고 있어 많은 외국인 투자가 이루어지고 있고 외국인 종사자도 많은 편이다. 그리고 인근에 양항체제(Two Port System)에 의하여 컨테이너항으로 개발되고 있는 광양항이 있다. 이러한 모든 여건은 현재는 물론이고 앞으로도 외국인이 필요로 하는 여러 가지 수요가 많아지고 이에 따라 외국인과 충분히 의사소통을 할 수 있는 인력이 필요하게 될 것이라는 것을 의미한다.
이처럼 여러 가지 측면에서 여수지역 내 국제통상, 국제물류, 국제관광이나 국제교류와 관련한 인력에 대한 수요가 많고 앞으로 더욱 증대될 것이 예상됨에도 불구하고 그러한 인력의 양성은 체계적으로 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 점에 주목하여 추후 여수지역이 필요로 하는 국제통상, 국제물류, 국제관광, 그리고 국제교류 분야의 전문인력 수요와 공급의 현황과 전망, 그리고 공급상의 문제점 등을 지적하고 여수지역의 국제전문인력의 양성방안을 제시하였다.

Despite of the present and the potential increase in the demand for the international specialists in Yosu area, there have been limited efforts to supply the qualified international specialists in the area. This paper examines the present situations and future prospects for the demand for and supply of international specialists in Yosu area in the field of international commerce, international physical distribution, international tourism and international exchange of personnel. Then this paper propose policy measures for increasing the supply of international specialists in the field of international commerce, international physical distribution, international tourism and international exchange of personnel in Yosu area.
