The purpose of this study is research on the development of Motivated Strategies for Learning Scale of elementary children and secondary school students.
The male and the female subjects were 481 5th grade and 501 6th grade elementary children, and were 430 1st grade, 398 2nd grade, and 402 3rd grade middle school students, and were 374 1st grade and 381 2nd grade high school students.
The preliminary items were analyzed by item analysis and factorial analysis, and correlations between subfactors of Motivated Strategies for Learning Scale and academic achievement scores of Korean, mathematics, and English.
From the results and discussions, conclusions as follows :
1. The Motivated Strategies for Learning Scale have five subfactors such as self-efficacy, intrinsic value, test anxiety, cognitive strategy use, and self-regulation.
2. Useable and good items of Motivated Stategy for Learning Scale were 90 items among 100 developed items according to the item analysis and factor analysis.
3. There were validity and reliability of Motevated Strategies for Learning Scale from correlations between five subfactors and Korean, mathematics, and English achievement test scores of middle school students and split half reliability test.
