The structural analysis of dance is an essential field of study in dance anthropology, Many studies have already been conducted and accordingly, dance art is recognized as the independent discipline but studies xi the actual structural analysis of dance have indeed poorly been conducted in Korea.
This study attempted to make a structural analysis of Korean dance through the analysis of dance movement, the basic material of dance. It sought to identify the basic structure of Korean dance through its structural analysis, beginning by finding out the root of Korean dance, and elicit the entity of Korean dance, Ultimately, it aimed to contribute to establishing the scientific theoretical system by identifying the basic structure of Korean dance.
Korean dance has the strict basic framework such as the structure formed in a form of hakche, pilche and gungche and the structure based on the dance techniques of tying arranging and untying But because Korean dance is allowed play techniques freely in such a framework, it is the dance is the one that can exhibit a slightly different aesthetic form from dancer to dancer.
