The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationships among technology readiness, perceived value, and value co-creation in the context of smart airport users. As airports increasingly adopt advanced technologies such as biometric boarding, unmanned baggage check-in, automated immigration clearance, self-service kiosks, and mobile-based services, it becomes essential to understand how users’ psychological readiness toward technology translates into co-creation behaviors. In this study, technology readiness was conceptualized through the positive dimensions of optimism and innovativeness. Perceived value was divided into emotional value and functional value, while value co-creation was measured through shared value proposal intention and information sharing intention, enabling a multidimensional assessment of users’ participatory behavioral intentions. A survey was conducted with users who had experienced innovative smart airport technologies within the previous six months. Using the collected valid responses, structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to test both the measurement and structural models. The findings revealed that optimism and innovativeness significantly and positively influenced both emotional and functional value. This suggests that favorable expectations toward technology and a willingness to embrace Innovativeness enhance users’ emotional satisfaction and perceived practical utility of smart airport services. Regarding direct effects, optimism positively influenced information sharing intention but did not significantly affect shared value proposal intention. In contrast, innovativeness significantly influenced both dimensions of value co-creation. Additionally, emotional and functional value significantly enhanced value co-creation intention. These results demonstrate that technology readiness contributes to value co-creation behavior through perceived value within smart airport environments.
