가족치료 연구를 위한 대화분석 방법의 이해와 적용 = Conversation Analysis for Family Therapy Research

Derived from ethnomethodology, Conversation analysis (CA) focuses on patterns and/or structures across naturally occurring conversations in various contexts, including family therapy sessions. This article critically reviews the development, basic features, and assumptions of CA in order to explore its usefulness as a method for family therapy research and for helping to develop a Korean model of family therapy. In addition, the article introduces basic CA research procedures and surveys previous CA research, conducted both domestically and abroad, in terms of content and methods. The article concludes with a discussion of implications and future directions for family therapy researchers and clinicians.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

대화분석은 가족치료와 같은 미시적 수준의 상호작용 대화가 특정한 관계와 성과를 어떻게 이끄는가를 분석하는데 초점을 둔 연구방법이다. 본 연구는 가족치료 연구의 활성화를 위한 질적 연구방법의 하나로서 대화분석 방법을 소개하고 가족치료 연구에 구체적으로 활용하기 위한 방안을 논의하는데 초점을 두었다. 구체적으로 대화분석의 특징과 기본 가정 및 상호작용 대화의 기본 구조, 그리고 대화분석의 절차를 소개하고, 그것이 가족치료 맥락에 어떻게 적용되고 연구될 수 있는가를 논의하였다. 또한 지금까지 국내외에서 대화분석을 활용한 가족치료 연구를 비판적으로 고찰함으로써 국내 가족치료 연구를 위한 대화분석의 방향에 대해 논의하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 대화분석 연구가 가족치료 분야에 갖는 시사점과 더불어 대화분석의 한계점 및 대화분석과 다른 질적 연구를 조합한 연구방법을 가족치료 연구에 활용할 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의하였다.
