무속신화에 나타난 여성신의 성적 결합과 출산 = The Female’s Sexual Intercourse and Birth in Shamanic Mythology

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

With sexual point of view, Korean shamanic mythology has narrative procession of ‘sex - sexual intercourse - birth and bring up : the forming of deity’s family line’. But the birth is the most important to the female. Because this biological phenomenon, which is followed by sexual intercourse, performs the mythical purpose of her becoming deity, and becomes the main narrative event in that.
But during the process, female body which becomes the object of desire is hidden, and confined by the male. Before and after the birth, the female deity suffers a severe trial. All of these tell us that Korean shamanic mythology reflects a patriarchal or androcentric point of view. Especially, besides female’s suffering, the birth is not realized under immoral sexual intercourse. This reflects the ethical belief of the folk who believe Korean shamanism, and tells that the birth guarantees the legitimacy of deity’s family line.
In this paper, we selected twenty nine Korean shamanic myths connected with these matters, analysed narrative procession of ‘sex - sexual intercourse - birth and bring up’, and finally presented the concrete chart of female’s suffering.
