한국·프랑스 관계의 역사와 전략: 수교 130주년을 맞아 = The 130th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Korea and France: History and Strategy

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this research is first, to analyze the Korean-French relationship in a general and structural perspective. Understanding more than a century of bilateral relationship is the necessary first step to diagnose the present and draw the future directions. Second, this article puts today’s bilateral relations into global perspective in three dimensions; political, economical, and socio-cultural. Third, I try to propose a policy perspective for a better Korean-French relationship. This proposal is based upon the strategy of ‘network and axis’: The idea is to promote the Korea-centered-East-Asian-network on the one hand, and the France-centered-European-network on the other. Then, Korea and France would form an axis for the connection of East Asian and European networks.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목표는 첫째, 한국과 프랑스의 관계를 역사적으로 분석함으로써 총괄적이고 구조적인 시각을 도출해 내는 것이다. 130년이라는 짧지 않은 기간 동안 한국과 프랑스 양국의 관계가 어떤 과정을 거쳐 현재에 오게 되었는지를 파악하는 작업은 현재를 진단하고 미래를 전망하는데 필수적이다. 둘째, 21세기 초반 한국과 프랑스의 관계를 세계적 정치경제 질서 속에서 조망해 보는 것이다. 커다란 그림을 보기 위해 정치, 경제, 사회문화 세 분야로 나누어 살펴보도록 한다. 셋째, 역사적 시각과 현재의 상황을 바탕으로 한국과 프랑스의 관계가 앞으로 나아가야 하는 방향을 전략적으로 모색하는 것이다. 한국을 동아시아 네트워크의 허브로 발전시키고 프랑스를 유럽의 허브로 삼아 한불관계를 동아시아와 유럽의 축으로 만드는 것은 바람직하면서도 유용한 전략이 될 것이다.
