Primary frequency regulation can address the issue of frequency instability in power units caused by load changes. The frequency regulation coefficient, frequency regulation limitation and frequency regulation dead zone are the important parameters of primary frequency regulation. To study the primary frequency regulation of small pressurized water reactor(SPWR) nuclear power unit during the load change, based on the simulation platform of SPWR control system, this paper conducts a study on the influence of the frequency regulation coefficient, frequency regulation limitation and frequency regulation dead zone on the primary frequency regulation effect under a 3 % FP(Full Power) step drop. The result indicates that the frequency regulation dead zone and frequency regulation limitation of primary frequency regulation can take a large value in the safe range, the value of the frequency regulation coefficient needs further consideration and should choose the middle value.
