화해와 상생을 위한 역사적 상상력과 시적 상상력- 이종형 시집 『꽃보다 먼저 다녀간 이름들 』을 중심으로 - = The historical and poetic imagination for reconciliation and co-prosperity - Based on Lee Jonghyung's poetry collection 『Names that went before flowers』 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 제주4.3시의 새로운 가능성을 보여주고 있는 이종형 시인의 시세계를 살펴보았다. 이종형 시인의 제주4.3시는 기존 제주4.3시의 가장 중요한 특징이라고 할 수 있는 증언문학으로서의 특징을 거의 보여주지 않고 있었다. 그는 제주4.3의 역사적 사실을 재현하거나 증언하고자 하지 않고, 오히려 역사적 사건으로서의 제주4.3으로부터 일정한 거리두기를 통해 새로운 차원의 제주4.3시를 쓰고 있었다고 할 수 있었다. 이종형 시인이 기존의 제주4.3시와는 다른 결의 시를 쓸 수 있었던 바탕에는 그의 개인사적 맥락과 시적 전략이 동시에 작동하고 있었다고 할 수 있었다.
이종형 시인은 자신의 태생이 제주4.3과 깊이 연루됨으로써 스스로의 삶에 역사적 상처를 내장하고 있을 수밖에 없었다. 그리고 그는 시 쓰기를 통해 스스로의 상처를 내적으로 화해시키고 ‘고마운 가계의 완성’에 이르고 있었다. 이종형 시인 자체가 개인적이면서도 역사적인 존재로 살아갈 수밖에 없었기 때문에 이와 같은 개인적 화해의 과정 또한 역사적인 의미를 일정 부분 함유한 것이었다고 할 수 있었다.
그리고 이런 개인적 화해의 과정은 그의 제주4.3시 작업과 동시에 이루어지고 있었는데, 그의 제주4.3시는 역사적 사건과 일정한 거리두기를 하면서도 역사적 상처를 삶의 일부로 수용해 함께 살아가야 할 문화적 기억으로 재구성함으로써 화해와 상생의 정신을 구현하고 있었다. 그리고 그의 이런 작업은 서정의 방법을 적극 활용함으로써 가능해진 것이었다고 할 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study looked at Lee Jong-hyung's poetry world, which shows new possibilities for Jeju 4.3 poetry. Lee Jong-hyung's Jeju 4.3 poetry showed little characteristics as testimonial literature, which can be said to be the most important characteristic of the existing Jeju 4.3 poetry. He did not want to reproduce or testify to the historical facts of Jeju 4.3, but rather wrote a new level of Jeju 4.3 by distancing himself from Jeju 4.3 as a historical event. It can be said that Lee Jong-hyung's personal historical context and poetic strategy were working at the same time on the basis that he was able to write a different resolution poem from the existing Jeju 4.3 poetry.
As his birth was deeply involved with Jeju 4.3, poet Lee Jong-hyung had no choice but to embed historical wounds in his life. And he was reconciling his wounds internally by writing poetry and reaching 'the completion of a grateful family'. Since poet Lee Jong-hyung himself had no choice but to live as a personal and historical being, the process of personal reconciliation also contained some historical significance.
And this process of personal reconciliation was taking place at the same time as his Jeju 4.3 poetry work, which embodied the spirit of reconciliation and co-prosperity by reconstructing historical events and historical wounds as cultural memories to live with while keeping a certain distance from them. And it could be said that his work was made possible by actively utilizing the method of lyricism.
