국문 초록 (Abstract)

김동석 수필 연구이 미 나*

연구 목적: 이 연구는 김동석의 수필을 면밀히 연구하여 그의 문학관을 형성하고 있는 내적 요인을 살펴보고자 하였다.
연구 방법: 김동석의 수필은 대부분 일제 강점기와 해방 직후에 창작되었으며, 일상적인 생활을 묘사한 작품과 식민지 현실과 해방 직후의 현실을 비판적인 시각으로 바라보는 작품으로 나누어 분석할 수 있다.
연구 내용: 김동석은 가까이에 있는 자연을 소재로 하여 일상적인 생활을 아름다운 문체로 묘사하고, 삶을 살아가는 지식인의 태도를 보여주면서 해방기의 혼란스러운 현실을 비판적으로 바라보았다. 그의 수필은 소소한 일상적인 생활에서의 교훈적인 이야기와 자연을 소재로 한 자연친화적인 이야기, 사회비판적인 이야기들로 구성되어 있다. 김동석은 일제 강점기에 “무저항의 저항”으로서의 글쓰기로 수필을 창작하였고, 스스로를 수필가로 자처할 만큼 수필에 남다른 애정을 가지고 있었다.
결론 및 제언: 김동석의 수필은 지식인으로서의 삶의 태도나 예술가적 면모를 확인할 수 있는 글이자 그의 문학 세계 전반을 이해하는 데 중요한 척도가 되는 것으로 평가할 수 있다.

Study on Kim Dong-seok’s EssayMina Lee

Abstract: This paper tried to study Kim Dong-seok’s essay in detail to examine the inner factors that form his view of literature. Most of Kim Dong-seok’s essays were created immediately after the Japanese colonial rule and liberation, and can be divided into works that depict everyday life and works that look at the reality of colonialism and the reality immediately after liberation from a critical perspective. Kim Dong-seok critically looked at the chaotic reality of the Liberation Period, depicting everyday life in a beautiful style using nature nearby as a subject, and showing the viewpoint of an intellectual living his daily lives. His essays consist of instructive stories from small everyday life to nature-friendly stories based on nature to social critical stories. During the Japanese colonial rule, Kim Dong-seok wrote multiple essays by implementing writing as a “non-resistant resistance”, and had an extraordinary affection for essay as he referred to himself as an essayist. Kim Dong-seok’s essay can be evaluated as an article that fully reflects his attitude of life as an intellectual and his artistic side, and as an important measure for understanding his entire literary world.
