지역문화예술교육의 현황: 울산지역 학교파견 예술강사들의 인식분석 = Local Arts and Culture Education: A Survey of Teaching Artists` Perceptions in the Ulsan Region

Through the School Arts and Culture Education Support Programs, a nationwide arts and culture education program run by the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service (KACES), more than 4,700 teaching artists have been sent to the public schools to enrich students` arts experience. Because KACES has emphasized the program`s localized operating systems in recent years, more attention is needed to supporting the professional needs of practitioners working in regions. Within this context, this paper presents the outcomes of a recent survey identifying and supporting the professional needs of teaching artists working in the Ulsan region. In particular, the paper discusses these practitioners` perception of their experience in schools and the ways to improve the programs, as well as how to support the teaching artists` professional development. Extending the public understanding of local arts and culture education practice, the outcomes of this study contribute to policy development and public support.
