학급내 연결망과 학습성과 = Classroom Networks and Study Performance

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 학생들간에, 그리고 학생과 부모간에 존재하는 사회적 연결망이 학습성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 학습연결망, 부모연결망, 허용된 여가 연결망, 금지된 여가 연결망, 진지한 의논의 연결망, 좋아하는 친구의 연결망 등 학생들의 일상세계를 측정할 수 있는 여섯 가지의 NGQ를 구성하여 학급내 연결망의 구조를 파악하고, 각 연결망에서의 학생들의 위치가 학습성과에 미치는 영향력을 분석하였다. 학급내에 존재하는 여러 가지 연결망 하위집단 중 높은 폐쇄성을 지니는 하위집단은 학습성과에 부정적인 영향을 미치며, 높은 학습성과를 보이는 학생일수록 개방적인 연결망에 속하거나 아니면 고정적인 소속연결망이 없이 학급전체에 흩어져있는 것을 발견할 수 있었다. 연결망 종류별로 보면 학습연결망과 좋아하는 친구 연결망은 상당히 확산적인 연결망이며, 부모연결망과 금지된 여가의 연결망은 매우 단절적이고 폐쇄적인 연결망이었다. 연결망과 학습성과의 관계를 보면, 학습연결망과 부모연결망은 학습성과와 밀접히 관련되어 있으며 나머지 네 가지 종류의 연결망은 별다른 관계를 보이지 않았다. 학습성과에 관련된 연결망 중에서 학습연결망은 대단히 확산적인 성격을 가진 연결망이어서 많은 학생들이 이 연결망의 잇점을 누릴 수 있도록 적극 권장하는 것이 필요하다고 생각되며, 부모연결망은 긍정적인 효과에도 불구하고 현재로서는 매우 단절적이어서 이 문제를 극복하게 해줄 수 있는 제도적 대안을 검토해 볼 시점이라고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper attempts to identify the linkages between students/parents networks and study performance. Six name-generator questions were asked to measure classroom networks: study network; parents network; legitimate pastime network; deviant behavior network; consulting network; and favorite friend network. Network subgroups with high level of closure have negative effects on study performance. High-performance students are either members of an open network or scattered without belonging to a stable subgroup. Networks of study and favorite friends are open and diffusive, while those of parents and deviant behavior are closed and isolated. Of the six kinds of networks, it was found that study- and parents networks are highly correlated with study performance. Because study networks arc diffusive in nature, use of. pedagogic skills like team presentations should facilitate spread of study performance. In spite of the positive effects parents network has on study performance, it is closed and highly isolated. This result suggests that we might need an institutional framework that can tie parents with each other.
