      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      The purpose of this study is to clarify the origin of gneiss which is distributed in the north-eastern part of Jirisan. The following is the result of petrology and geochemical study about pegmatitic gneiss, porphyroblastic gneiss, biotitic gneiss and granitic gneiss in this area through the analysis of major and trace elements.
      In the gneisses, the abundance of Na_2O is less than 3.27 wt% and the ratio of TiO_2/Al_2O_3 is similar to that of clay sediments(0.04). Harker variation diagram of these gneisses belong to sedimentary origin. Comparing gneisses with granite and shale, the average abundance of trace elements in the gneiss is similar to that of shale. Abundance range of the trace element in the gneiss are more dispersion than that of granite. Then this gneisses are show a characteristic of paragneiss.
