다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the recent trend of physical disabilities. It explored the recent studies and trends of physical disabilities and what the topics related to physical disabilities imply.
In order to explore the last 10 years' studies on physical disabilities, we reviewed the articles on physical disabilities through two search methods of ProQuest, Academic Research Library and Education Journals. We found 282articles which used physical disab* as a title. Our study has limitations to represent all studies of physical disabilities, and cannot discuss the studies on other countries such as Japan, and Germany. However, it helps understand the overall trend of the studies on physical disabilities. Among 282 articles, 128articles was peer reviewed and had full text. We chose 70 articles except overlapping articles, book review, introductory articles, and others.
The result of the study shows that the studies on physical disabilities primarily show the topics such as emotion, health, sex, education, social adaptation,physical activity, minority group, and nurture. The topics are different according to ages, and the paradigm of the studies moves from rehabilitation to independence. In addition, as qualitative studies among the whole studies consist of 40%, the in-depth studies on physical disabilities are increasing.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 지체장애의 최근 동향을 살펴보기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 지체장애에 관련한 주요 연구와 최근경향은 무엇이며, 지체장애에 관련된 주제들이 의미하는 것은 무엇인지 알아보았다.
본 연구를 위한 연구방법은 미국 저널의 대표적 검색도구인 ProQuest의 두 가지 검색 방법인 Academic Research Library와 Education Journals를 통한 문헌검토방법으로 이루어졌다. 미국 논문들을 중심으로 한 최근 10년간의 문헌들을 살펴본 결과 총 282편의 논문들이 지체장애(physical disab*)를 제목을 사용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 검색어로 사용된 지체장애는 지체장애 전체를 대표할 수 없으며, 일본, 독일 등 비영어권 논문들을 나타낼 수 없다는 한계점이 있지만 지체장애에 대한 전반적인 흐름을 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다. 282편의 논문들 가운데 Peer Reviewed(동료 검토)된 전문(Full Text)으로 된 논문은 총 128편이었으며, 중복된 논문, 북 리뷰(Book review), 소개 글 등을 제외한 논문들 가운데 지체장애 연구의 최근 경향을 잘 보여주는 논문 70편을 선정하였다.
연구결과 지체장애는 정서, 건강, 성(sex), 교육, 사회적응, 신체활동, 소수집단(minority group), 양육에 대하여 주로 다루고 있으며, 연령별로 관련 주제가 다소 차이가 있으며, 연구경향은 재활중심에서 자립생활중심으로 패러다임이 변화하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 전체연구들 가운데 질적연구 방법이 40% 가량으로 지체장애에 관한 심도 깊은 연구들이 많이 이루어지고 있음을 알 수 있다.
