Abstract: This study aims to reconstruct the theoretical trajectory of contemporary moral psychology, focusing on discussions of “Moral Psychology at the Crossroads,” and to identify the challenges that this shift poses to moral education today. To this end, the study examines Kohlberg’s theory from the perspective of “moralized psychology,” analyzing its mixed argumentation and phenomenalistic assumptions. Then, it explores how the “psychologized morality” approach has shifted the focus of moral education. Additionally, the study reviews how pluralized moral psychology has broadened explanations of moral functioning from individual psychological processes to social interactions. The study proposes three core tasks: reconceptualizing reasoning education, pedagogically reconstructing psychological findings, and critically reflecting on technology-mediated environments. Ultimately, the study emphasizes the importance of moral education addressing reasoning, character, and interactional environments, as well as engaging with the conditions under which moral judgments are formed and revised.
