Abstract: The purpose of this study is to propose an improved vocabulary teaching method for learners of Korean in English-mediated classrooms. The study provides an in-depth review of existing literature on the Picture-Word Inductive Model (PWIM), which differs from traditional vocabulary instruction by utilizing authentic visual materials presented by the teacher to foster active, team-based, student- centered learning. Based on the literature review, the study develops a revised PWIM model suitable for beginner-level Korean learners in English-track university programs, thereby providing practical implications for vocabulary instruction in English-mediated Korean language classrooms. The model proposes activities involving sentence and paragraph construction, representing deeper levels of semantic processing, for more effective for vocabulary acquisition. As the study is theoretical in nature, future research should address this limitation by examining the long-term learning effects through actual classroom implementation.
