청소년의 여가 활동에 사회경제적환경이 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 = Impacts of the Socioeconomic Environments on the Leisure Activities of the Youth

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 청소년의 여가 활동과 사회불평등 재생산의 관계에 대한 이론적 관심을 바탕으로 청소년의 여가 활동에 미치는 사회경제적 요인의 영향을 밝혔다. 한국청소년패널조사의 자료를 사용한 경험적 분석의 결과 부모의 교육수준 및 가구 소득수준은 문화자본 축적의 성격이 강한 여가 활동과는 정의 상관관계를 보인 반면, 시간소비적이고 오락성이 강한 여가 활동과 부의 상관관계를 보였다. 여가위계척도에 대한 위계적 선형모형의 분석 결과 부모의 교육 수준은 개별 가정의 수준에서 뿐 아니라 학교 수준에서도 여가 활동에 영향을 미쳤으며, 지위성취의 열망을 위한 대체변수로 사용한 청소년의 학업성취도 역시 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 사회불평등의 차원에서 청소년의 여가 활동에 대하여 정책적 관심을 기울여야 할 필요성을 시사한다.

Based on the discussion about the relation between leisure activities and social inequality this study explains the influence of the socioeconomic factors on the leisure activities of the youth. Using the data of the Korean Youth Panel Study the empirical analysis shows that the education level of the parents and the household income relate negatively with time-consuming and entertaining leisure activities and positively with leisure activities which contribute to the accumulation of the culture capital. The analysis of the hierarchical linear model shows that the education level of the parents have influence on the leisure activities of the youth not only on the individual but also on the school level. Also the school performance, which is used as a proxy variable of the aspiration of the status promotion, has a positive impact on the score of the leisure hierarchy scale. The results imply that more concern is needed on the leisure activities of the youth in terms of the social policy.
