    다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

    The responses of serum growth hormone(GH) and prolactin(PRL) to dopamine agonist bromocriptine were studied in paranoid and non-paranoid schizophrenic patients. The changes in serum GH and PRL following administration of low-dose bromocriptine(0.75mg p.o.) have
    been used to study the functional state of dopamine receptors involved in the release of these hormones.
    This study was aimed to clarify of the relationship between the psychopathologic aspects and the function of central dopaminergic system in schizophrenic patients.
    The subjects consisted of 13 paranoid and 13 non-paranoid schizophrenics whose diagnoses were made according to the criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-III-R.
    The results were as follows ;
    1) The mean values of serum GH and PRL of the all groups were within normal range before the oral administration of bromocriptine. There were no significant differences among paranoid group, non-paranoid group and control group.
    2) After the oral administration of bromocriptine, there were no significant differences of serum PRL values among all groups.
    3) In non-paranoid group, the value in serum GH was higher than that of paranoid and control groups following the oral administration of bromocriptine(P<0.05).
    4) The values of serum PRL after the oral administration of bromocriptine were significantly decreased as compared with that of baseline in all groups(P<0.001).
    5) The value of serum GH following the oral administration of bromocriptine was significantly increased with that of baseline in non-paranoid group(P<0.05).
    In light of these results, the response of serum GH after a low dose bromocriptine administration could be suggested as a biological marker of non-paranoid subgroup of schizophrenia.
