한국 대학생의 성차: 정서, 사고방식, 가치관을 중심으로 = Gender Differences of Korean College Students in Emotions, Thinking Style, and Values

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the present study is to describe gender differences of Korean college students in emotions, thinking style, and values. One thousand college students (Men 523, Women 477) from five regions of Korea were participated in the survey with 17 scales (6 for emotions, 5 for thinking style, 6 for values). The results were as follows. First, there were gender differences in emotions. Women reported higher scores in negative emotions such as depression and anxiety, while men scored higher in positive emotions such as subjective well-being. Second, no significant gender difference was appeared in thinking style except for collectivism which was higher in men than women. Third, in values, men showed more SDO(social dominance orientation) and BJW(belief in a just world) than women while women showed more materialism than men. With these results we expect to establish a basic psychological database to understand Koreans as well as to provide valuable suggestions for the further studies.
