19세기말 朴藥局의 고객관리와 경영전략 = The Client Management and Management Strategies of Park’s Pharmacy at the End of the 19th Century

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The clientele of Park’s Pharmacy mainly consisted of Goguns and Jakins of land and debtors of capital. This explains why the location of land matched the residence of its clients. Furthermore, tenders for the purchase of medicinal items were provided with tenant land on a large scale. Frequent purchases of medication benefited from low interest rates. For these Goguns, Jakins, and debtors economic symbiosis with Park’s Pharmacy was a means of making a living. They went to Park’s Pharmacy instead of all the other pharmacies in the area in order to maintain their relations with it. On an extension of their relations with the pharmacy they would make a condolence call in a large group when the chief executive officer of the pharmacy passed away. Another critical reason for their visits to the pharmacy was its Inhwa management at every economic crisis. Its Inhwa management was observed in cases in which farm rents for tenant land were paid late or postponed, credit was not paid for many years, and small amounts of medication bills were written off for people that lived far away.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

박약국의 고객을 보면, 토지의 고군·작인 및 자본의 채무자가 다수이다. 그래서 토지소재지와 약국 고객 거주지가 일치하고 있다. 더군다나 약재 매입 청부자에게는 많은규모의 소작지가 제공되었고 빈번한 의약 매입자에게는 저리 이자가 적용되었다. 이들고군·작인·채무자에게 박약국과의 경제적 공생은 곧 삶의 방편일 수밖에 없었다. 그러므로 그들은 그러한 관계의 유지를 위해 주변의 다른 약국을 다 제쳐놓고 일부러 박약국을찾아왔다. 그러한 연장선에서 그들은 박약국 최고 경영자 喪 때 조문을 대거 왔다. 그들이 박약국을 찾은 또 다른 이유로 경제적 위기 때마다 박약국이 펼친 인화경영도 빼놓을수 없다. 인화경영은 소작지의 소작료가 체납되거나 유예되는 사례, 외상이 다년간 미납되거나 멀리 사는 사람의 소액 약값이 탕감되었던 사례를 통해 확인할 수 있다.
