    The section of the movement of the moon has been educated from elementary school. However, it has not been so effectively educated because of some limitations on of time and space. Therefore, there are not many students who understood its principle scientifically. Furthermore, many of them seemed think that it would be difficult to learn even before taking the lesson. So, it is difficult for them to gain a practical learning in many cases.
    In this study, a web-based electronic textbook the movement of the moon was developed for the section of, which comprises the basic part of the field of astronomy in middle school science course. The developed web-based electronic textbook used in this study properly introduced a motion picture video. It was hardly illustrated in the general textbooks, as well as text materials so that learners can easily understand the contents of the textbook with their interest triggered. In addition, a text size, which has been usually the problem of an electronic textbook, was appropriately adjusted. In addition, this e-textbook gave an opportunity that learners can review their learning results through assessment material, arrangement of terms, and thinking as well as learning materials, and further, learners can perform in-depth study naturally while looking around related web sites.
    The web-based electronic textbook developed in this way, is expected to induce students’ interest when teachers give explanations on time and spatial concepts, and to offer more educational effect to individual learning through preview and review.
