자유주의 정의론에서 평등과 책임의 요구 = 드워킨의 롤즈 비판에 대한 응답

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Even though Rawls` and Dworkin`s theories of social justice are classified as egaliatarian liberal theories, Dworkin criticizes Ralws` theory of justice. The gist of Dworkin`s criticism is that Rawls` theory does not adequately accommodate ``luck egalitarianism. To be more precise, Rawls`` difference principle can neither mitigate the inequalities which are derived from handicaps, nor accommodate the responsibilities which are derived from individuals` choices. In this paper, I argue that Rawls` theory can successfully reply to Dworkin`s criticism. In Rawls` theory, difference principle can not, but the fair equal opportunity principle can successfully deal with the problem of handicap. The difference principle does not deny the responsibilities from imdividuals` choices. Rather it can adequately accommodate these responsibilities, so it is a principle of ethical individualism and equality of opportunity. The reason why I argue in this way is that I believe that these two theories of justice are not necessarily conflicting, but rather complementary theories. I believe that Rawls` theory is adequate at the level in which the fundamental principles of egaliatrian justice is chosen, while Dworkin`s theory is adequate at the level in which the fundamental principle of egaliatarian justice is implemented.
