In introductory remarks, we seldom meet with argumentations about the purpose of dialectology. They are usually centered upon the usefulness of dialect data for the description of language development from the viewpoint of the historical comparative linguistics. Aside from the topics so far, the writer in this paper aims to discuss the significance of studying dialects in the age of local autonomy especially from an epistemological point of view. As a result of his investigation over dialect phenomena, he insists that dialects should be educated as a means of expelling the evil motto of 'both-sides wrong' from our society.
