단군신화에 나타난 한국의 이상적인 인간관 = Korean Ideal Man in Dangun Mythology

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고에서는 단군신화에 나타나는 인간상이 한국의 가장 이상적인 인간상임을 밝혔다. 이 인간상은 우리의 고유경전인 『삼일신고』에 나타나는 인간상과 일치한다. 즉 사람에게는 모두 하나님이 내려와 계신다는 일신강충 모티브, 그러므로 사람은 누구나 스스로의 안에 있는 하나님을 찾아 그와 하나가 되어야 한다는 성통광명 모티브, 이후 하나님의 뜻대로 이 세상을 이치로 바로잡아야 한다는 재세이화 모티브, 마지막으로 세상을 널리 이롭게 하는 대인이 되어야 한다는 홍익인간 모티브 등이 그러하다. 단군신화에서 환웅천왕의 아들로 태어나는 단군은 일신강충 모티브와 일치하고, 곰이 곰녀로 바뀌는 사건은 성통광명 모티브요, 환웅천왕과 단군왕검이 하는 일은 재세이화와 홍익인간 모티브라고 할 수 있다. 그리고 하나님의 아들로 태어난 사람은 이 모든 과정을 마치고 다시 하늘로 올라간다. 단군이 산신이 되는 것이 바로 그것이다. 이렇게 우리 신화에서는 하늘에서 땅으로, 땅에서 하늘로 돌고도는 하늘땅오르내리기를 하는 것이다. 단군신화는 홍익인간이 되어야 한다는 것을 이야기하고 있다. 이 홍익인간은 『주역』에서 말하는 대인이라고 할 수 있다. 사람은 소인으로 태어나지만, 수양을 거쳐 군자가 된다. 그러나 우리단군신화는 군자로 머물러서는 안 되고, 다시 땅으로 내려와 세상을 이치로 다스리고 널리 이롭게 하는 대인이 되라고 한다. 환웅천왕이나 예수나 석가처럼 낮은 곳으로 내려와 세상을 널리 이롭게 하라는 말이다. 이 일을 마치면 다시 하늘로 올라가는 것이다.결국 한국인의 이상적인 인간상은 바로 이 대인, 즉 홍익인간이라고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Dangun mythology is the oldest mythology in Korea. So the most ideal man of Koreans`` is hidden in this unspoiled mythology. I will look for this ideal man through 31-shilgo which is the Korean native scripture. Dangun mytholgy is the unique mythology which combines the God-come-downing-in-earth motive and the Oviparous Myth motive. It has the structure of circulating round the earth and the heaven. In other words, it has the structure of becoming a man of virtue. Western philosophers established the human psychological development into three stages. Those are pre-personal , personal and trans-personal stages. Human beings are obliged to develop from pre-personal stage to trans-personal stage. They called it absolute spirit, omega point or super mind. Also, in the orient, it was written in the book of Changes that human should advance from a little pot to a man of virtue, and moreover to a man of great character. A little pot should go up to heaven in order to become a man of virtue. A man of virtue, however, should come down to the earth again so that he may make it the union world uniting the heaven and the earth. Like this, the man who goes up to heaven and comes back down to the earth can become a man of great character. In Dangun mythology Gomnyo eats the Artemisia and garlic and beats the darkness and goes up to heaven. Hwanwoong comes down from the heaven and rules the world with reason , and makes the world of being good broadly for the humans. Therefore Hwanwoong is the man of great character as the name means it. But the man of character in Korea doesn``t end as the man of character, he goes up to heaven again. This is possible because he is both God-come-downing in me and a race of son of God. In the end, Dangun mythology suggests us that we should become a man of great character. Its reason is that we are the sons of God. As seeds become fruits, and fruits become seeds, so we have the mythology of circulating round the earth and heaven.
