The purpose of this study is to find relationships between image and preceding constructs: expectations and perceptions. The study uses the framework that the image is influenced by expectation and perception, although it is true that destination image affects the expectation and, subsequently, the perception, too. The study suggests that there is a cycle in those concepts: image-expectation-perception-image. Factor analyses, canonical correlation analyses and regression analyses were performed to find the underlying structure, to relate two groups of variables, and, finally, to explain the image with perceptions and perception minus expectation data, respectively. It was found that Cheju Island has at least four images: relaxation, unique destination, convenient reservations, and good services. Each image has different supporting elements of perceptions and (perception-expectation) factors. Further research was recommended not only about methodology but also about Cheju Island image, specifically.
