도덕과 교육에서의 다문화교육의 방향 설정

국문 초록 (Abstract)

도덕 교사들의 다문화에 대한 이론적, 교육적, 실제적 이해를 높이기 위해, 다문화주 의에 대한 주요 이론적 패러다임과 다문화 교육적 접근을 도덕교육에 맞게 적용해보고 자 한다. 현재 도덕(과)교육에서는 이미 다문화주의가 등장하였지만 실제 교육과정을 실 현하는 교사들의 다문화 및 다문화주의에 대한 개념이 상이하거나 이론적으로 정합되 어 있지 않고 교과서 또한 상이한 다문화주의가 충돌하고 있는 실정이다. 다양한 다문 화주의에 대한 이론적 틀이 교과서 내용과 활동을 정초할 수 있도록 도덕 교육적 시사 점을 도출하였다. 다문화주의의 주요한 패러다임을 비교·분석하여 도덕 교육적 시사점 을 찾고, 실제 도덕과 수업을 통해 실시한 프로그램 예시를 제시하였다. McLaren, Sleeter와 Grant의 분류에 의존하여 다문화주의의 이론적 배경을 알아보고, 교육적 적용 을 위해 Banks의 다문화교육 영역과 비판적 교수법을 제안하였다. 비판적 다문화주의에 서 강조하는 사회 담론에 대한 분석, 사회구조적 시각의 중요성을 통해 다문화의 오개 념과 현 인식을 점검하고 사회정의에 기여할 수 있는 다문화교육을 강조하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to apply a variety of multiculturalism and multicultural approaches to moral education in order to moral teachers’ theoretical, pedagogical, and practical understandings of muliculturalism. To now, although multiculutralism already emerged in moral education, teachers’ concepts of multiculturalism are not coherent to practices and contradicting paradigms are present in the textbook. This study draws implications for moral education to get textbook contents and activities bound in theoretical frameworks of multiculturalism. Thus, after analyzing various multicultural paradigms to set a direction for applications to moral education, this study suggests multicultural programs actually implemented in the lower secondary moral class. For theoretical frameworks, this study refers to McLaren’s and Sleeter & Grant’s classifications to understand theories of multiculturalism as well as Banks’ multicultural domains and critical pedagogy to get pedagogical applications. This study puts emphasis on the multicultural framework for social justice that examines conceptual errors and the existing discourses of multiculturalism through both cultural and structural analysis which critical multiculturalism contributes to.
