내담자가 지각한 공감 경험에 관한 질적 연구 = A qualitative study on client’s experiences of Empathy in the counseling process

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 상담 과정을 통해 내담자가 경험한 공감과 그 영향의 양상을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 7개 사례에 대해 상담 시작부터 종결시점까지 매회기 상담이 끝난 직후에 내담자를 심층 인터뷰하고 전사한 축어록을 귀납적으로 분석(inductive analysis)하였다. 분석 결과 4개 영역, 18개의 범주가 도출되었다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 내담자가 지각한 상담자의 공감 행동으로는 적극적으로 경청해 줌, 온몸으로 받아주는 따뜻함, 나보다 더 내 감정을 알아줌, 내 내면의 감정을 정리해줌, 태도에 진심이 담김이 도출되었다. 둘째, 공감에 대한 내담자의 반응으로는 마음의 벽이 무너짐, 신뢰하게 됨, 가볍고 시원해짐, 편안하고 안심됨이 도출되었으며, 셋째, 공감받은 경험 이후의 상담 과정에서 내담자가 경험한 것으로는 솔직하게 터놓음, 내면의 깊은 핵심을 봄, 과거를 수용⋅현재 인정함, 스스로 생각하게 됨, 다양한 방법을 찾음이 도출되었고, 넷째, 공감받은 경험 이후 내담자가 인식한 자신의 변화로는 관계 개선, 자존감과 의욕 증진, 방향과 희망이 생김, 변화에 대한 의구심이 도출되었다. 마지막으로, 도출된 결과를 선행연구와 관련지어 논의하였으며, 연구의 의의와 제한점, 후속 연구에 대한 제안이 제시되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The current research was to find out experienced empathy the aspect of effect perceived to win by clients throughout the entire process of counselling. We interviewed clients in depth about 7 examples of counselling immediately after each session was finished and analyzed the recorded interview with a repetitive comparison analysis method. As a result of the analysis, 4 areas and 18 categories were drawn. First the behaviors of clients perceived in the interactive process were active listening, whole-hearted warmth, recognizing my feelings better than myself, organizing my complicated emotions and cordiality. Second, the response of clients about empathy was breaking dawn walls, establishing trust, feeling relieved. Third after the experience of winning empathy, what the clients experienced in the process of counselling was to be honest, to see essence in mind, to accept the past, to admit the present, to think by themselves and to find various ways of coping. Fourth after the experience of winning empathy, the change perceived by the clients themselves was the improvement of relationships and hope and doubt about change. Finally the discussion centered on the pre-research and the significance and limitation of the research and suggestions for a follow-up study were proposed.
