The purpose of this study was to explain the concept of emotion that can improve the emotional intelligence of learners of Korean language, to understand the importance of 'emotional intelligence' and to design educational methods to enhance the emotional intelligence of learners through literature appreciation education.
In Korean language education, the process of Korean learners appreciating literature is a process of reading emotions or feelings through their own experiences. In other words, if literature is a tool for expressing emotions or feelings, appreciation of literature should not only understand the plot but also read the emotions of the characters. With reading literary works and being able to accurately recognize the emotions of the learner as well as the emotions felt in them, learners will experience their emotions through writers, characters, events, and conflicts. The leaners can deeply understand that thoses experiences will let know how to understood and be expressed in the learner's life. Through constant communication with characters, one can understand oneself, leading to self-reflection and understanding of emotions in the process. The ability to properly express other people's feelings and their own emotions through literary education is very important for Korean learners. In this way, the emotional intelligence is the ability of learners to understand and adapt to various problems they actually experience while learning Korean and it's aimed at enhancing emotional intelligence through appreciation of literature using emotional recognition, emotional expression and emotional utilization ability.
First of all, in order to improve learners' sentiments, this study selects literary works suitable for utilizing emotional intelligence and interprets the sentiments revealed in the text. And the self emotion recognition throuth the emotional expressions from texts, in other words, it is an understanding processing to recognize their own emotion through characters and contextual contexts. The following are expressions for emotional communication with others, which can be seen through reflective comparisons with others. Finally, it seems that the emotions are as a mechanism of experience and communication that could be used in a reflective manner through anger toward others. All of these categories were classified into patterns of practice through the appreciation of learners as complementary characters to promote emotional intelligence.
This way, through the experience of understanding the learner's emotional aspects and emotions, the learners will be aware of their emotions, and furthermore, the learner has the ability to utilize emotional intelligence through educational methods and activities to improve emotional intelligence through literary works.
Like this, it is possible to know that the emotional aspect of education has a deep connection with literary education, and that improving the emotional aspect is more important than anything else.However, there may be many practical problems to implement in the actual class. In response, to investigate the ways to increase the emotional intelligence, I wanted to actually examine learners' emotions through text, find Korean learners' own emotions, and create ways to increase emotional intelligence so that they can be treated in a meaningful way.
This study focused on enhancing the emotional intelligence of learners by utilizing the appreciation ability of learners to enhance the emotional intelligence of learners by using literary appreciation. Therefore, the language can be learned through the process of understanding one's feelings and understanding one's mind. Finally, it is meaningful to improve emotional intelligence that can actively utilize the ability of to express the emotional express of oneself and others in the process of language communication.
