Purpose: To compare the vascular dementia patients` and Alzheimer`s patients` CERAD-K scores in or-der to examine the intergroup difference and the utility of CERAD-K to vascular dementia patients, Method: The subjects of this study are 31 patients who were hospitalized in one of the three con- valescent hospitals located in Daejeon. Chungnam from July 1st till October 31 st, 2009 and diagnosed to have vascular dementia or Alzheimer`s. All the subjects received the Korean-edi?tion CERAD-K assessment, Result: There was significant difference among the two groups in their K-BNT, word list memory, and word list recall(p < .05). According to the result of analyzing correlation among the sub items of CERAD-K, a higher correlation coefficient was observed in Alzheimer`s patients than in vascular dementia patients (p < .05), Conclusion: It is thought that it is needed to develop an assessment too] for vascular dementia patients since there exist correlation and also difference between the two groups regarding conitive functions.
