In this study, 138 pure-blooded and non-pure-blooded elementary school students in Korea were studied, and the purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation with health-related indicators such as the number of beneficial bacteria, harmful bacteria, health index, and possible disease types through fecal analysis of these elementary school students. The following main conclusions were drawn.
First, as a result of analyzing the intestinal microbial balance index of pure-blooded elementary school students in Korea, 32.1% had a high rate of beneficial bacteria, 35.9% had a high rate of harmful bacteria, and 32.1% had the same ratio of beneficial bacteria and harmful bacteria. In addition, in the case of intestinal type, the Ruminococcaceae type accounted for the highest proportion with 59.0%, and the average number of probiotics held in the intestine was 2.85. According to an analysis of the intestinal microbial balance index of non-pure blood elementary school students in Korea, 23.3% of them had a high ratio of beneficial bacteria, 43.3% had a high ratio of harmful bacteria, and 33.3% had the same ratio of beneficial and harmful bacteria. In the case of microbial types in the intestines of non-pure-blooded elementary school students, the Ruminococcaceae type accounted for 41.7%, the highest proportion like pure-blooded elementary school students, and the number of probiotics possessed in the intestine was 2.55.
Second, both pure-blooded and non-pure-blooded elementary school students were found to have a significant positive correlation with the health index, and in particular, the number of intestinal probiotics was found to have a negative correlation with obesity.
Third, as a result of analyzing differences in genetic intestinal characteristics and health indicators according to gender of pure-blooded elementary school students, the number of probiotics held by female students (M=3.39) was higher than that of male students (M=2.33). On the other hand, the type 2 diabetes prediction index was higher in female students (M=47.87) than male students (M=27.53), and in cardiovascular disease prediction, male students (M=57.35) were higher than female students (M=23.26). On the other hand, as a result of analyzing the differences in intestinal characteristics and health indicators of elementary school students, the number of beneficial bacteria was found to be higher in the number of beneficial bacteria in the Bacteroides type and the Prevotella type than in the Luminochacier type. On the other hand, the number of harmful bacteria was found to be higher in the number of harmful bacteria than in the Bacteroides type/prevotella type in the Luminochacier type. On the other hand, as a result of analyzing differences in genetic intestinal characteristics and health indicators according to gender of non-pure blood elementary school students, the number of probiotics held was higher in female students (M=2.60) than male students (M=2.51). On the other hand, female students (M=46.08) were higher than male students (M=25.03), and male students (M=58.57) were higher than female students (M=24.76) in cardiovascular disease prediction indicators. On the other hand, as a result of analyzing the differences in intestinal characteristics and health indicators of these non-pure blood elementary school students, the number of beneficial bacteria was found to be higher in the Bacteroides type and the Prevotella type than in the Luminochacier type. On the other hand, the number of harmful bacteria was found to be higher in the number of harmful bacteria than in the Bacteroides type/prevotella type in the Luminochacier type. From these results, it can be seen that both pure-blooded and non- pure-blooded elementary school students in Korea show the same trend.
Fourth, as a result of analyzing the differences in intestinal characteristics and health indicators between pure-blooded and non-blooded elementary school students, there was no statistically significant difference between non-blooded elementary school students and pure-blooded elementary school students in the number of beneficial bacteria, harmful bacteria, diseases requiring microbial management, obesity indicators, type 2 diabetes indicators, and cardiovascular disease indicators.There was 001), and non-pure blood (M=58.53) elementary school students were higher than pure blood elementary school students (M=44.09).
This study has academic significance and clinical significance in that it presents the possibility of evaluating the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease according to the number of beneficial/hazardous bacteria in the intestine and the number of probiotics in the intestine by revealing the correlation between intestinal microbial characteristics and genetic health indicators through feces analysis with NGS in pure and non-pure blood elementary school students in Korea. Given that diet is the most influential factor on intestinal microorganisms, we would like to suggest home and school education on the importance of microbial balance in the intestine by maintaining microbial diversity through diets such as consumption of various types of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and dietary fibers.
