The purpose of this study was to identify trends in the research on Somatic-based programs conducted in Korea over the 23-year period from 2000 to 2023 by analyzing the trends. A total of 95 articles (25 journals and 70 dissertations) published in Korea on Somatic-based programs were classified and analyzed for trends, and frequency analysis was conducted by category and item to explore trends in research on the effectiveness of Somatic-based programs according to the program implementation structure, analysis of the implementation environment and program content, and research design and target audience. The main results of the analysis are as follows. First, the analysis of trends in the year of publication, type of publication, researchers' majors, academic departments and conferences, and research types showed that the most Somatic-based research was conducted from 2019 to 2023, the most publication type was in domestic dissertations, and the highest participation rate in research was found in departments and conferences in dance-related fields, as researchers in other arts-related majors accounted for the majority, and qualitative research methods were applied most often in both dissertations and journals. Second, the analysis of the program implementation structure showed that the highest proportion of studies were in the form of groups of two or more people, and the analysis of the program implementation environment according to the research subjects showed that the highest proportion of studies were for performing arts practitioners with 11 to 20 sessions or less, the highest number of sessions per week was for the general public with one session, and the highest proportion of sessions were for performing arts practitioners with a duration of 60 minutes or more. In addition, the analysis of Somatic-based program contents and methodology showed that the most common program composition was the program that applied Somatic movement training method and Alexander technique. Third, the research design showed that the largest proportion of the studies were conducted to verify the effectiveness according to the research subjects after program development, and the results of the multiple response analysis of the program effectiveness according to the research subjects showed that the largest proportion of the research subjects were performing arts practitioners, and the largest proportion of the effectiveness was in artistic development, physical, cognitive, emotional, and other areas. Based on the results, we hope that it will serve as a useful basis for future research on the development and application of somatic based programs.
