세계박람회의 변천과 표현특성에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Transition and Characteristic Expression of Exposition

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Since the introduction of a system of self-government, Korea has held so many expositions in the name of "an international exposition," but not all came off as we saw the failure of inviting the 2010 Yeo-su International Exposition. We can point out some problems from that experience, including a good lack of information about the preliminary arrangements or practical operational plans for its 150-year exposition history. Now, I divided the years into three periods, that is, a period of technical civilization, advanced science and art and recovered humanity to analyze those periodical environments, changes or currents woven by the experiences, not by the growing history of objective facts. It provides the basic materials for the original ideas and effective expressions to hold a successful domestic invitation of the expositions.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리나라는 지방자치제 도입 이후, ‘세계박람회’라는 명칭 아래, 적지 않은 박람회가 경쟁적으로 개최되고 있으나, 모두 성공적으로 개최되었던 것은 아니다. 그리고 ‘2010년 여수세계박람회유치에 실패한 경험도 있다. 이러한 것들에 대한 몇 가지 문제점으로, 박람회 준비과정이나 실질적인 운영 방안 등에 관한 경험 부족, 그리고 150년 세계박람회 역사에 비해 정보가 매우 부족한 점 등 을 지적할 수 있다.이러한 배경 아래 본 연구는 세계박람회의 변천을 제1기 기술문명개발의 시대, 제2기 과학문명과 인간성 회복의 시대, 제3기 인간과 자연의 조화의 시대로 구분하여, 객관적 사실의 발전사가 아닌 경험에 의해 짜여진 시대적 배경이나 변화, 조류, 표현특성 등을 집중 분석하였다. 이는 국내 박람회의 성공적인 개최를 위한 독창적인 아이디어와 효과적인 방법 및 전시연출을 위한 기초적인 자료를 제시하고 있다.
