Objectives: The purpose of this article is to examine the examples of writing using local historical and cultural resources conducted at universities and to explore ways to link them to writing education in the creative experiential activities of the secondary curriculum.
Methods: As one of the creative experience activities, the 2015 revised curriculum actively encourages writing activities based on connection with other areas within the subject or other subject learning, comparison activities, or out-of-school writing activities. In consideration of the purpose of this curriculum and the current situation in the school field, this article proposed a writing teaching method using local historical and cultural resources.
Conclusions: Writing using local historical and cultural resources is expected to help students increase their motivation for writing, recognizing that writing education is not limited to classroom instruction but an object that can be done in everyday life.
