Objectives: This is to examine the current status of the 'Gyosan Heo Gyun Cultural Festival' held every year in the Gangneung area and explore ways to revitalize it. Through this article, I hope that this festival will be known to outside tourists and become a familiar event.
Methods: We looked at festivals targeting not only the Gangneung area but also people from other regions. And based on this, the characteristics and direction of the 'Gyosan Heo Gyun Cultural Festival' were presented. To this end, it is necessary to modernize and diversify the program, and a method to strengthen the promotion strategy is required. Finally, a strategy that can induce the interest of visitors through visual programs, etc. should be presented.
Conclusions: 'Gyosan Heo Gyun Cultural Festival' must combine popularity with a modern sense while maintaining a literary depth. Through this, the 'Gyosan Heo Gyun Cultural Festival' will be able to develop into a sustainable cultural festival that represents Gangneung's identity and contributes to revitalizing the local economy and culture.
