In this paper, we propose the reduction, enlargement conversion algorithm by the advanced error -diffused operation to facilitate the application in the binary document image of the facsimile, the digital copier and decrease the impairment of the image quality to preserve the outline information even after the conversion. We classify the reduction, enlargement conversion algorithms for an image into the frequency domain and the space domain largely and describe the features and the problems. This advanced algorithm is compared with the conventional error diffused operation algorithm through the simulation for facsimile test chart No. 2. We present an improved image quality as to the proposed method.
