This study aims to evaluate the hydraulic stability of the Honeycomb-Cell revetment, an emerging eco-friendly river improvement technique, and to verify its feasibility through application to the actual Jangan-cheon watershed. To this end, a HEC-RAS 2D model based on two-dimensional shallow water equations was constructed, and its reliability was verified by comparing simulated results with data from previous hydraulic model experiments. Using the verified model, flow velocities and tractive forces were calculated for 80-year and 100-year return period flood scenarios in the Jangan-cheon basin. The analysis revealed that under the 100-year flood condition, the maximum flow velocity was 4.41 m/s, and the maximum unit tractive force was 14.52 kgf/m2. These values are within the allowable limits of the Honeycomb-Cell revetment (allowable velocity: 5.0 m/s, allowable tractive force: 30 kgf/m2), indicating that the revetment ensures sufficient hydraulic stability even under extreme flood events. This study is significant as it presents engineering design standards for the Honeycomb-Cell revetment by integrating experimental verification with numerical application.
