This is a comparative study of two subject groups: Group A (6 wrestlers) with a program of weight reduction by 6 days' regular diet as well as 15 minutes' everyday running exercise on Treadmill on 80% VO2 max and Group B, controlled group, (6 physical education majors) with similar physical contions and regular meals without diet, In this study, the transition of body components, physical fitness factors, cardio-respiratory fuction, blood componets, and MMPI were measured for analytic comparison and evaluated. The followings are summary of this study.
8.4% original body weight of the subjects of Group A was reduced after the 6 days'scheduled diet.
As to muscular strength, relative grip strength significantly increased but absolte grip strength showed no change. Back strength was significantly increse after weight reduction. In controlled group a little increase with no meaningfulness was seen. Leg muscular extensional strength and muscular endurance revealed a significant high increase of 40 - 50% after weight reduction As for physical fitness factors, sargent jump was recorded 2.1m (3.9 %) increase, side step 6.8% increase, trunk extension 13.2 % increase.
