1930년대 미디어 검열에 대한 독법(讀法)의 문제-『조광』의 “非文字 表象(목차, 표지, 화보, 광고)”을 중심으로 = A Problem of Reading on The Censorship of The Media in The 1930`s, Focusing on Nontextual Representaions(Table ofContents, Cover, Pictorial, and Advertisement) of Magazine Cho-kwang(『조광』)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper raise the issue of the way of reading in studies of media and the censorship in the 1930`s. We are fixated on letters, and accustomed to way of reading focusing on written text(literature and editorial) But that reading grown to habit can not close in upon the essence of medium after the 1930`s. And that is not the way of reviving the ``textuality`` of medium in the 1930`s. Because medium in the 1930`s were limiting discourse(literation) on account of reinforcement and acceleration of the censorship. Therefore we need a new approach or way of reading for interpreting that medium in the 1930`s which internalize camouflage, concealment, and silence for survival. I take note of nontextual representaions as an alternative. Nontextual representaions such as table of contents, cover, pictorial, and advertisement, are the subject on which reading grown to habit missed out until now. Therefore this study is focusing on demonstration of the importance of that nontextual representaions in the study of medium and censorship in the 1930`s. On the side of literary study, these subjects are ``uncharted territory`` and multiple existences. So this paper is an experimental departure.
