연구개발활동, 기술혁신과 기업성과에 있어서 기업부설연구소의 역할 = The Role of Corporate Research Institutes in R&D Activities, Technology Innovation and Performance

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study empirically verified the effect of the establishment of a corporate research institute on R&D activities, technology innovation, and performance at the regional level. As the main results of the analysis, first, the firms with research institutes showed significantly higher R&D input, internal capacity, technology innovation and performance. Second, as the result of cluster analysis by performance­oriented and innovation­oriented factors, firms with research institutes were significantly classified into innovation business and innovation­growth business. Third, also in the results of multivariate analysis, we also confirmed that whether the firm has a research institute is a major factor in determining the specific cluster(innovation business, innovation­growth business etc). Based on the above results, we could derive that it is necessary to diversify support policies for strengthening R&D capabilities of local enterprises and expanding the establishment of corporate research institutes. Also, policy implications were derived that it is necessary to find a support program that activates practical R&D activities of companies with research institutes.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 기업부설연구소 설립이 연구개발활동, 기술혁신과 성과에 미치는 영향을 지역 차원에서 실증적으로 검증하였다. 주요 분석결과는 첫째, 기업부설연구소 설립 기업이 R&D 투입, 내부역량, 기술혁신 및 기업성과에서 미설립 기업보다 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 성과지향적 요인과 혁신지향적 요인으로 군집분석한 결과 기업부설연구소 설립 기업이 혁신형 및 혁신성장형 기업군으로 유의하게 분류되었다. 셋째, 다변량분석 결과에서도 기업부설연구소 설립 여부가 혁신형 및 혁신성과형 기업군을 결정하는 주요한 요인임을확인하였다. 이러한 분석결과를 통해 지역 중소·중견기업의 R&D 역량 강화 및 기술혁신을 뒷받침하는 기업부설연구소의 설립 확대를 위한 지원정책의 다양화와 함께 실질적인 연구개발활동 활성화를 위한 지원 프로그램의 발굴도 필요하다는 정책적 시사점을 도출하였다.
